10 best reasons for organizing your garage
Raise your hand if your garage is full of totally random stuff. Yup – 25% of Americans can’t park one car in the garage. So let’s talk about the very best reasons you should declutter your garage.
1. Your car is probably worth at least $40,000. It makes ZERO sense to leave it out in the elements while you store half-used paint cans and holiday decorations from 1986 in your garage.
2. You probably want to use what you have, but it’s pretty discouraging if you have to go on a scavenger hunt every time you want to find a screwdriver or a step stool.
3. I’d bet a lot of money that you’re buying items that you already own because you can’t find them.
4. If your sporting equipment wasn’t buried, you’d be more likely to use it.
5. Let’s face it – you’re old. ;) All the stuff piled in there does create tripping hazards. And the score for humans vs. concrete is: concrete infinity; humans zero.
6. Every single time you go into the garage, you feel guilty (especially if you’re Catholic or Jewish). And that little mean voice says terrible things to you about why you haven’t been able to take care of it yet.
7. You live in Houston. I do not have to elaborate on this one.
8. You know you love to decorate for the holidays. Wouldn’t it be great if all your décor were categorized by season and placed in those super cute bins from Lowe’s?
9. Let’s not forget about pest control. Most women are not huge fans of roaches or rats. So let’s not leave debris around as an invitation for them.
10. Hiring me to organize your garage would mean you’re supporting a small, locally owned business. And who doesn’t love that?
